Food Service Advisory Committee
The Food Service Advisory Committee (FSAC) works to increase participation in the Public Schools of Brookline Food Service Program while ensuring high-quality meals and service.
To support this goal, the committee assists with menu planning, reviews recipes, gathers feedback from students and families, and collaborates with sustainable food and recycling initiatives.
The FSAC partners with a range of stakeholders to support future food service offerings, operational planning, and new program initiatives. This includes areas such as online payment systems, decentralized food service environments, and overall service quality. The committee actively seeks input from students, families, staff, and Wellness Committee members and prioritizes clear communication across the school district and broader community.
Appointed by the School Committee, the FSAC serves in an advisory role to the Deputy Superintendent for Administration and Finance and the Director of Operations. The committee provides guidance on the district’s retail food and beverage program as well as vending services.
The committee also ensures that all menu and food offerings comply with regulations set by the USDA, Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the PSB Wellness Policy.
